Anyone have ever use rpm sensor to apm 2.5?

what rpm sensor do u use and how about to activate and send the data via telemetry?

I have a processor that handles the timing from the engine's Hall effect sensor. I can have the RPM sent through I2c, serial ASCII, analog, etc but I don't know where to start in terms of getting it through APM to the GCS. Any ideas?
