Hello,

I've been holding off flying my new stock AC2 quad since some early successful  flights with 2.0.5, waiting and watching the yaw issues being resolved etc. It seems pretty good now by most reports, but there isn't much detail about people's current experience with Loiter, Altitude Hold and RTL.

As a new flyer, I'm a bit scared that if I select one of these modes the quad's going to leap off into the distance never to be seen again.

Can anyone explain concisely what to expect when engaging these modes, and is it now fairly 'safe' to play with?

Do I need to toggle channel 7 first to use any of them?

Thanks

Rob

  • Baro altitude hold works in 2.0.18, but read all of the instructions carefully, and all of the related posts. Switch it on when in stable, level flight - not moving up or down, then it will hold altitude pretty well. In light wind and small gusts, my arducopter held within 3 meters or so. I take it down close to the ground to disengage alt hold.
