Dear all,
If someone was interested in manufacturing multirotors to sell in RTF form using the Ardupilot board as the flight control, what would the hurdles be?
Obviously, the ardupilot board would have to be tuned to the frame being sold, and this code would be saved on the board meaning that it is truly RTF out of the box.
The difficulty would come with updates at a later date I assume.
What are the drawback of using Ardupilot in a commercial system?
Many thanks in advance,

If you are in the US, I would say the market is not there yet. Experimenters and hobbiest yes, Commercial not yet. DIY drones sells a RTF quad, and a RTF plane. The thing is what can you offer that they cannot. If your talking government sales. Then they need to be made of US components so the cheap chicom boards are right out. So then you need to value add in other features, Imaging, cameras, thermal. And ill tell you from my experience in trying to do so. The pickings are slim. Lots of interest, no $ to be made....yet. And that is why I have shuttered my "drone business" for the time being.
When the FAA figures out the rules for operation in the US then you will find a US market.
