Should elevator move up on roll?

I'm not sure if this is correct or not but I noticed when holding my plane (skywalker) in stable mode and using config file from the download section that the elevator moves up when I roll left or right.

I don't remember seeing this before and wondering if some setting is wrong. It seems this would cause it to jump up and down if there is any roll movement. Or is this normal behavior of autopilot?

  • Yes it is normal for the elevator to go up during a bank. There is a setting for this called pitch compensation or PITCH COMP in the mission planner configuration settings. If your flying in a turn you have to apply some up elevator right?  Don't know about your crash but there are pitch to throttle and throttle to pitch settings that may need to be adjusted. There are also settings for calibrating your airspeed sensor to match your gps speed.

  • Hi F11 music.

There are people far more qualified than myself here. But during any roll, in manual mode, its usual to dial in some up elevator

So I'm not suprised if this is also the case in any other flight mode. My easy star also does this as I expected it to!

  • I've looked in the manual but can't find anything about how the elevator should move in relation to roll in stable mode. It looks like the way it's working that it would pitch up on a left or right bank.

I had 2 crashes because of some problem after installing the airspeed sensor. On the first crash I noticed an up and down movement when it was getting out of control in stable mode that I thought was due to the new airspeed sensor but now wondering if it could be some setting that is wrong and causing the elevator movement. Just want to check that things are ok before tossing it again :)
