Small issue with UBlox GPS

Did around 10 flights recently with the ArduPilot Mega and a UBlox GPS in mainly FBW-A and RTL modes.  Usually, when i boot up the board, the ABC lights flash during the IMU calibration and subsequently the A light blinks for a few seconds and goes solid when the GPS lock is achieved.

On 2 occasions, i had the A light not turn on at all ! I thought my GPS was dead, but then when i rebooted the board it showed up OK . 

 

I checked the cable that connects the UBlox GPS to the board and it was secure and all wires OK . 

 

Not sure what could be the reason for the GPS module to work erratically. ..

 

Any ideas ?

    Thanks for replying. I have had great success with ArduPilotMega, and very, very impressed ( apart form a few issues that i am posting here today ) . Congraturlations on the great product/hardware/software.

     

    So, I take that, if this happens I need to reset the board using the "reset switch" ? Do i need to worry if the GPS lock would fail in-flight ? 

     

    One more question while we are here - there are 2 switched on the IMU/OilPan. One is the reset, but what is the other for ?

    Not sure why this happens, but a reboot is always a good idea ;-) It almost always works for me, but I hit that button if it doesn't.
