I've been looking into making a "solar copter" because I prefer longer flight times. I don't mean like solar panels attatched to a battery bank that then charges my copter, I mean solar panels on the copter that charge it as it flies. There's obviously a ton of technical issues with the idea, but if anyone has any suggestions or links or previous experience I would be grateful. You never know until you try.

First step would be to measure or estimate your power consumption, then calculate the surface area you would need to generate that power with about 20% conversion. Then take into account the extra mass associated with the solar sheets and associated power electronics. Best solar sheets are from Alta.
