Specktrum DX8 and Getting All Flight Modes

Hi All,

Not sure if this is an AR8000 receiver issue or a Skektrum DX8 issue or just me messing up on the wiring from my APM 2.5.

I've had this same issue with my quad and now I see it on my hex.

I followed Mr. Hansen's post on setting up a Spektrum DX8 for 6 flight modes.
Discussion Title: Spektrum DX8, 6 flights mode with one singel channel, by FM and Gear Switch
http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/spektrum-dx8-6-flights-mode-with-one-singel-channel-by-fm-and?commentId=705844%3AComment%3A908303

My problem is, instead of using Gear and F Mode switches, my transmitter is using Flap/Gyro and F Mode switches.  I can get it to work, but instead of having 1 - 2 position switch (Gear) and 1 - 3 position switch (F Mode), I end up with 2 - 3 position switches.  It works, but it seems more complex then it should be.  My settings are shown below:

SW1SW2PWRMODE
0017666
0115104
0211751
1016375
1115104
1213422
2014263
2115104
2210071
GEAR85%65%
MIX-1-50%50%
MIX-2-125%-50%

As you can see I had to change the settings on both Mix-1 and Mix-2 to get all 6 flight modes to work.  But I also end up with three flight mode 4's and two flight mode 1's or a total of nine settings.

Anyone have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,

Richard

Just an update for those that might have the same issue.  Apparently my Spektrum DX8 transmitter has 2 main model types, 1 for Helicopter and another for Airplane.  Since I was flying a Quad and then a Hex I was using the Helicopter model type.  This type does not use the Gear switch.  Guess no helicopters have any landing gears.  LOL.

Anyway, switching to Airplane model, made my transmitter allow me to use and to program the gear switch.  Now I need to relearn how to use the flight modes using a difference switch.

Thanks to Spektrum support for helping me find this out.

    Regards,
    Richard
