Spektrum RX on Pixhawk Solution!

Hi all, I just wanted to chime in on some of the discussions surrounding connecting a Spektrum rx to the Pixhawk. As everyone should have figured out by now, you only need to connect the satellite rx to the Pixhawk. (After binding with the main rx first). Discussions I've read through had issues with getting Pixhawk to handle their additional channels the way they wanted. Servos, landing gear, lights, relays, etc...

Though I have only the DX7, I still pondered how to implement more channels. Say I up and bought the DX18 for example. How would I make use of all those extra channels? The Pixhawk will max out at 8 channels. So now what?

Conventional wisdom has suggested using just the main rx only and route everything through a PPM decoder, so on and so forth however, that still doesn't address how to handle all those extra channels.

My solution? It was pretty simple actually. I just completed testing my theory. It works flawlessly! Just use the main rx and connect to Pixhawk as usual with the satellite cable. In my case, I wanted the diversity. I fabricated a splitter cable for the Satellite wire. I now have the main rx and satellite connected to to the Pixhawk. All servos, landing gear, and all my other accessories that needs its own channel, simply connect directly to your rx.

Hope this helps...
