Stability of 3d-printed parts

Hi,

as I understand, cheaper 3d-printers put layers of molten plastic on top of each other. Especially if the pieces are bigger, I imagine that the previous layer has cooled down quite a bit when the new layer is put on top. How is the structural stability of those parts? Can they actually by used or do they tend to break apart under little stress?

  • Ah, thanks! What kind of printer do you have? Commercial grade or consumer or selfmade?

  • Works great, a well calibrated printer have perfect bonding between layers. I make lots of parts myself.
