stabilize mode working weird

Hi!

I am setting up my wing with my APM 2.5. Everything is connected just fine. When I try manual mode, all surfaces moves as expected. However, when I turn on stabilize mode, something weird happen. When I do de pitch movement APM compensates as if I were rolling, and the opposite, when I do the roll to left or right it compensates by pitching up and down. The APM is mounted on the wing facing forward as I have always mounted my APM on other planes. I know there is and option to mount the APM on different positions but I didn't change this option, at least voluntarily.

Any ideas of what to look at, changes...??

  • Hi, you have to play with the 3 different reverse flags for elevons till it gets right, see here.

Here's a stupid description of what is happening: In manual mode APM will pass through the RC to the servos. Almost as if it were just a bunch of servo cables. Even if the APM elevon configuration is wrong it will work as long as your R/C is set up right.

If APM elevon setup is not correct then is will show when APM (and not just the R/C) tries to control the elevons. This is what you see.

The page I linked, "Reversing Servos and setting Normal or Elevon Mode", describes BTW that the R/C stick movements (not  the autopilot's output to control the plane) may be right in MANUAL and wrong in STABILIZE. I am not quite sure that is true... For a flying wing maybe it is true but is it also true for a traditional tailed plane? Hmm.

    Regards
