Hello all!I have been hunting along internet for topics related to GPS guided boats without any results. Then I found ArduPilot. I got very excited about this hardware. For familiarizing myself with ArduPilot, I've planned of building a simple boat that have GPS waypoint navigation system. I have couple of years of experience with RC planes, so I already have a needed radios for this project. Well, to be honest, I think that the basic 4ch radio isn't so good, is it?The basic idea is to just get the boat moving between the waypoints. So, are the basic components for the GPS guidance (including of course Arduino board...) just only ArduPilot board (1.0) with GPS unit and FTDI cable? (Just for making sure, I really have explored this site and got lots of information.)Have anyone built GPS guided boat, or have any other ideas related to this project before proceeding to the next step? :-)Best regards,Aleksi

Hello! Thanks for your replies. I've been very busy lately as I'm moving in couple of weeks. As I settle down, I'll post my plans and constructions for you.
Any ideas related to this project are welcome. :-)
Hi Aleksi. I'm trying to do a similar thing but will develope it on a rc car. I have the ardupilot with 1x loaded, em406 gps and xbee pro2 fitted. I'm now struggling with the code to establish the esc speed along with future code changes for reverse, bow thrusters etc. I think the problem with 1 is that the ground station does not work with it along with some other 2 and later code benifits. Have a look at http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/ardupilot-in-2ch-rc-car?x=1&i...
it gives a little more info.
If you have progresed further please tell me how your doing and code changes you've made.
