Stick center/drift problem

2.0.19 quad X

The quad flies ok in stable mode when I trim the sticks, it hovers perfectly for a while. But after short time, the center of the sticks is not neutral anymore. After a while, max stick input is almost not enough to keep the quad straight. If I land and try again it sometimes fixes itself, but after a few turns the sticks neutral point is far off again.

How can I fix this?

  • just because PID is a mystery to most people, it doesn't cause most problems ;)

    which transmitter are you using?

are your gyros correctly calibrated? (they are calibrated every reboot, check them with planner. don't move it while booting)

are you flying in bright sun? is your apm exposed to strong sunlight?

  • To me it was the same with the code Ardu Pirates, I could not test well with Arducopter code because when I've flown windy but I felt that the problem persisted. It`s like to lose the center turns.

I think It could be a problem of PID settings.

Nobody else have got this problem?
