testing ESC

I would like to know is there any way that can test whether a brushed ESC is working or not ?

    The ESC that i currently have is the SU/E10s. How do i go about testing it? cos last time when i try to control the ESC with APM, the ESC seems to be very hot.

    is there any other way of testing cos i do not have both the rc receiver and the servo tester.

    Yes,

    Connect it to a battery, motor and r/c receiver/transmitter and test it as if it were in an aircraft.

    You can use, as an alternative, a servo tester in place of the r/c transmitter/receiver.
