Hi

I have the problem that I can't save enough waypoints on the Pixhawk. But I'm not shure if this could be a Mission Planner problem. The Pixhawk has a 4GB micro sd card installed, so I don't think there is not enough space for my waypoints... :-)

Today I send a WP File with over 700 waypoints without problems to the pixhawk. But if I read the waypoints from the pixhawk, the Mission Planer displays not a single waypoint on the map... If I try this with 50 waypoints it works.

Another problem is to save and read a WP-File with over 254 waypoints with the Mission Planner. I can save a waypoint file to my harddisc. When I try to read the waypoints only 254 will be read and the message "too many waypoints" shows up... I'm confused..

Can somebody explain this behavior?

Many thanks in advance

Michael

  • Make sure it is a listed issue on GitHub, and if not add it.
    • Thanks for your advice. I listed the issue on GitHub.

  • Ardupilot does not have code (yet, will come) for using full capacity of pixhawk's main microcontroller - so it's limited to the ~120 WP of APM.

Pixhawk does not store mission on microSD.

    • Do you know when the update will be come?

      • no, as soon somebody feels the need to do the change.

        • Yes, I feel the need for this change :-) I have built a hexacopter for a farming application. The goal is to help the local farmers to overcome a maize pest. We do this on a biological way. I have to drop 100 small bowls filled with special wesp larvas on one hectare. So, I get 100 waypoints for one hectare. But there are also fields with 5 hectares... My goal is to do the 5 hectare field in one mission and not in 5 missions...

So, I hope we get the update asap...
