Tower App: Why is it telling me "The Android Wear app and an Android Wear smartwatch is required" and then crashes

I have used droid planner 1&2 and have been using the tower app since it came out. Now when I connect to my pixhawk, the Tower app says ""The Android Wear app and an Android Wear smartwatch is required". After saying that, the app will crash. Any idea why?

This never happened before on the same S4 phone with the same 3DR radios, it worked last week without asking for this.

Any help?
