I have been trying for the past few weeks to find the best way to track a drone should it fly away. I don't want to go broke but I figure it is better to have a few backups rather than end up loosing everything. Does anyone have some ideas that will accomplish this? I found one product that if lost as long as you are in a cellular area, you call a number it then contacts the drone and sends out an SMS message. Then you are given a link to a satellite view of where it is. My problem with that is it is in the Uk and not sure if it will work in the States? http://uavision.co.uk/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=53 Also I thought about a loud buzzer that would go off say in 30 minutes if not unplugged.
But knowing what others are using and has been proven would sure save a lot of steps.
So any help would be wonderful
Mike

Hi Mike
Yes this works in the USA on the following GSM Quadbands 850, 900, 1800 & 1900mhz networks.
Thanks
Dog trackers are helpful, although I've seen these can go up to $500. You get a base station though, so I guess the moving part isn't all that expensive.
