When connecting to the Configurator It seems to be very hit or miss. CLI works everytime, I can only get the Configurator talking if I follow this order.
1.) start configurator
2.) Slide switch in FLY MODE
3.)Click connect on the Configurator screen
4.) plug in quad to USB
5.) Slide switch to CLI mode
This works mabye 1 out of 15 times maybe

and set to return

The serial port is not live in Windows Hardware until after you plug in the usb to the APM. You are seeing a cached setting of where the usb port "was last set to" and assumes will be, once plugged in. So clicking connect before plugging in the USB is hit an miss I'm afraid, as the hardware change may or may not be seen, you may want to check if you have "set rts on close" activated in device mananger.
