Trouble downloading maps

Hi everyone,

Up until a few days ago I had no problems with maps in Mission Planner. I could either prefetch the map or just let the image load in real-time provided there is an internet connection.

But now the map only partially loads (whether or not prefetching), and at most zoom levels the map is blurred, with the map download never actually completed. This happens in three different machines, all of them with good, 15mbs internet connection and in which Google Earth, for instance, has no trouble loading the imagery of the same locations at any desired zoom level. This occurs mainly with the Google Satellite map provider option.

Sometimes, instead of the blurred map, the following message appears in the map tiles: "Exception: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server unavailable. We are sorry, but we don't have imagery at this zoom level for this region". Is there any known issue with imagery servers?

Thanks,

Bruno

  • I am having this problem right now getting that error 503. I spent the last 24 hours doing a map prefetch, is it possible the error can be related to getting banned from their server for automated tile downloads?

  • Yes, I have just updated to 1.2.97 and now I am having these issues with maps partially blurred or not loading at different zoom levels. I haven't updated for a long time because I had a mission planner that worked. Now I am back to one that has issues.

Great software and hope to have the new update working.

Any ideas of how to solve this issue?

    thanks,

    Rob

  • I am having this issue right now with Google satellite imagery only. Did you guys ever get this figured out?

  • I am having the same problem since the last update.
