My Turnigy 9x transmitter/receiver has recently developed an unwelcome habit of going to half throttle for about 2 seconds during power up of the transmitter. More specifically, it goes to exactly 1474 during power up, with the low threshold at 1055 and the high at 1885.

This doesn't cause any problems if my quad is disarmed during power up (as one certainly should do), but if I forget to disarm when powering down my transmitter (yes, I know this is bad) and then turn the transmitter back on before the quad disarms, things go very, very poorly.

Anyone else seen this issue, have any idea what might be causing it, have any suggestions for debugging, or know how to fix it?

Again, I know that one should always disarm before power cycling the receiver, but for better or worse I also know my human forgetful tendencies and would prefer not to have to depend on my fallible memory. I'd also like to understand what's going wrong either way.

For those of you using the Turnigy 9x setup, let this serve as your reminder not to forget to disarm!

  • I'm having the exact same issue.  I just had to patch up my ceiling and rebuild my quad =)  Did you figure out what's causing it?  I can't find much info online.  I'm going to flash it with er9x.  Hopefully that will solve the issue?

  • Tobin, are you using a hacked T9X with the ER9X firmware or other? I have never used the transmitter with the stock HK firmware so I couldn`t tell you where to look. I have  a T9X with ER9X firmware and that issue is not there.
