UAV to deliver items?

Hi, this is my first post here . I chanced upon this website while looking up on drones and I'm quite intrigued. pretty much a newbie here but i am interested in trying to build a drone or at least purchase one. Is there any way to build a low cost UAV to hold about 5 kg with a reasonable flying distance ? :) about 300 dollars budget :D

  • Alright, thanks alot for the heads up ! really appreciate it. Just curious though, what would be a good place to start off building a drone? like the kind of parts i would require and stuff.

  • This is not Toys R Us buddy :)

Your $300 will barely cover a reliable transmitter & receiver setup.

Unless you have $800 - $3,000 to buy into this area of research, there's not much you can do.

If you want to fly 5kg of payload a respectable distance, you would ideally want that to be less than 35% of the craft's weight. So use that as a starting base. You are already talking about something very expensive if range is the top priority.

Then #2, something 5kg would probably be important, so now we get into redundancy to ensure safety and reliability.

That alone can run a few hundred dollars.

I think you stumbled off to a bad start with your quest sir. Try spending some time in the forums here, or other general RC hobby sites. You have to learn this stuff thoroughly because with anything RC related, it can carry the serious risk of harming yourself or others.

  • I think you dropped a zero.  Start with 3,000 dollars and you may be able to build it.
