UAV vs Piloted Aerial Photography?

Hi folks, I am curious as to where one ought to draw a line for what is feasible/infeasible for UAVs for the creation of digital orthophotos. For example, I have a site of about 7400 square kilometers in Central America. Are there UAVs that are truly capable of flying this site to produce 0.5-meter or better aerial photos? Is there some software that I might use to determine how many flights should I be planning for a project like this by UAV? Thanks much. Peter
