Hi! I'm starting work on an unmanned boat, idea is to comb an area in a fixed pattern for some research work. Any ideas of a good autonomous computer? I would need to be able to update waypoints mid-trial, hence ardupilot does not look like it will work (i could be wrong here), else I'm looking at micropilot... alot of money for 90% of features I will not be using! Thanks!

If you read through this site and others, searching for 'arduino' and, for example, 'NewSoftSerial', 'two-way comm', etc., you'll see that an uplink can be added to the ArduPilot. If you can wait however, I'd agree with Chris - the Mega will provide a solution that will allow you to spend your development time on other needs.
