Can anyone tell me what i need to do ....?
i want to connect some lights to my quadcopter they have a servo lead plug on the end of the controller.
from what i gather i can plug that lead into the output port on my APM.2.5 and assign a switch on my tranmitter in mission planner and add a lead from output on my reciever (channel 5 is free) to input on my APM (port 6 is free) the only free output port i have on my APM is port 8 to connect the light controller power lead to.
am i thinking down the right lines ??? any help would be great. dont want to risk blowing up my APM.

Are these lights controlled by servo type signals or are they simply powered via a servo type connector?
Do you have a link for the documentation for the lighting?
From a current draw perspective, the BEC feeding the Output rails of the APM would be handling the power requirement. If they are controlled (not simply always on) then the APM would pass any RX input through to the Output...assuming it is not a stabilizing servo command line.
The pan/tilt output might be a suitable choice. Again, some documentation links would be helpful here.
