  • This seems to be workable using the cut and rotate mechanism old uk analogue sky satelite boxes used.

This system is small, light, but expensive!

I think i might have found the nearest thing to a solution, still expensive though:

  • AtoD on a full video stream isn't trivial. There are some fairly cheap cards for PCs, laptops, usb, etc. that can do it though.

  • The problem with encrypting video is that most video streams used are analog. The first step would be to make the video digital, which requires a digital connection (802.11X, cellular, etc) to the airplane. If you have that, then it is simple to send the video over a TLS (the new name for SSL) pipe instead of in the clear.
  • No, i mean encrypting the video before sendong it so it cant be trivially intercepted by others.

  • Do you mean sending data on the video transmitter as well as the image? This is all ready done with some OSD systems.
