What is easier to fly.....A quad, or a Hex?

I have not had the opportunity to fly both, so for those of us who have, what do you think?

I would think that a hex would be able to correct itself easier, since there is a prop in each direction, with much less space between props.....Plus if it leans to one side it can apply lower thrust divided between multiple props rather then more thrust from a single prop. But that's all just speculation.

In the real world, what works best?

  • In the real world, there is not much difference between the 2.

A quad will crash immediately if a motor fails. A well designed hex will lose yaw control but can still be lowered and gracefully crashed without that.
