Of course a Spektrum DSM2 transmitter (or module)... won't work with any other brand. Well... you can also use the JR DSX7 and DSX9... which uses Spektrum hardware...
I personally use the JR DSX7. And use it with various JR and Spektrum DSM2 RX's.
Basically it depends on what you're going to use it for. You'd want something that you can program your TX. The DX6i has that... so at least the DX6i. But if you're going into RC's in the long run, I suggest the DX7 / JR DSX7 (if you're getting the DSX7 - make sure you have the one that has the countdown timer... I have an early version without the countdown timer *sigh*.)
Spektrum has a few transmitters DX7,DX7se, DX6i 6Ch Full Range Microlite, DX6i: Simple 2.4GHz DSM2 computer radio, DX5e: Affordable easy to use 5-channel
Which one is the best suited with their linear servos and AR6400 receiver ?

(or if you already have a Futaba 72mhz or similiar older model, there are modules available to convert)
