Hey there, I am looking for sum help on equipping an existing RC plane with autopilot and GPS. Like what electronics do I need. I am a farmer and want to use it for checking fields I am not a newbie at rc planes but the autopilot and gps on an rc I haven't ever messed with please any help is appreciated..Vance Amoth

depending on the weather conditions you need to fly in, and whatever you need as slow flight as possible when flying with strong tailwind, (for photo-overlap), you may wish to add airspeed sensor as well.
you will most likely want radios and an android app called "tower" , so you can quickly upload different missions for your fields while outtdoors, and monitor the status/progress.

+1 On the first link Andre posted, read ardupilot.com once twice and then once more before connecting a wire and it will save you lots of time.
The actual integration of an autopilot is close to trivial now. Post production software that allows you to use images you capture for data is another thing.
Hard to beat a Bixler from Hobbyking as your first get to know autopilots platform
