It is hard to get a muticopter to fly properly if you do it alone. It would be nice to meet fellow South Africans to discuss and share ideas and skills. I live in New Hanover KZN and would like to hear fom anybody interested.

Oliver here from CapeTown. Started early this year. Have built a number of quadcopters using various FCs. I'd say that I've had most success with arduino APMs, have had no problems with them. I really love multi-rotors and I build my own frames to save a bit of cash for electronics etc..
Copter or plane

Hi Guys, Sorry for late respons, have been buzy. I thank you all for responding.
Craig Burden, your idea for a meet and fly is great, It's just to far to travel. Maby we should organise a more local fly-in in our own province first.
Gary Mortimer, I missed your fly fest recently (heard about it now only). I still like to meet you as you are the closest to me.
Duran DeV, Cool video, this is what I also plan to do, but in my local aria, and just simple footage of school sport Rowing regattas and arial photos for estate agents and Music festavals etc.
My prototype hex is reddy to go autopilot but I am still to scared to flick the mode switch in flight. I have no idea what will happend!. Will it do it's thing or will it go ballistic". Im getting old and my reactions not so good anymore even on the computer. My son Chris is still young and witout his help on the "IT" side I would be lost.
Will post a pic of my hex soon.
Hi! Murray here from Pretoria. I started early this year and have built a tilted Octa V (with retractable landing gear) and am currently having a lot of fun with a missile shaped quad. I can offer advice on getting long, narrow shapes stable.
Just waiting for parts to arrive and then you can add myself and two friends to the Cape Town crew. :)
