Please I need help. I have been using 3s battery on the 3DR X8, I recently purchased a 4s battery with 14.8v, connected it to the copter, the only thing that has refused to power up is the ARDUPILOT 2.6. Please advise me on what am suppose to do that am certainly not doing.........thanks.
If you are just starting out and trying to learn how to fly, then the 3S works better and the default PIDs are tuned to 3S. A 5000mAh gives a good max flight time. Make sure you buy a min of 35C rated battery. The C is used for max amp or burst amp rate. Good luck and fly safe.

I used 4S for some time now and I never had to adjust the PID settings. It just feels like +50% more power. Same hoover time, but way more responsive.
I would never go back to just 3S.
Either. The 4S will provide more power but increases the cost.
