Xaircraft X650 V1 ArduPilot Mega 2.5+ and GPS

Hi All,

I have decided to revamp my Xaircraft X650 V1 and replace the AHRS and flight controller with the ArduPilot Mega 2.5+ and GPS.

I did however intend to use the original Xaircraft ESC-A4 board, but am now having doubts about compatibility(not sure why tho).

Does anyone know if the parts will cause compatibility issues ?

Many thanks in advance.

Graham

  • I guess as long as the draw on the motors is the same it should not be an issue. Only problem may be in the number of pins from the esc speed controller pins to the apm 2.5. It seems to be a three pin per output M1-4 which will need to checked against the APM wiki

http://wiki.xaircraft.com/en-us/XAircraft_ESC-A4 looks like a nice board with cooling, esc and power distribution all in one.

    • 4 Electric speed control device designed into one, line connect easy and safe.
    • Up to 60 MOS, able to withstand the high current.
    • Continue to provide 35A output current in the 3s battery.
    • 5A output capacity integrated(UBEC).
    • Support UltraPWM protocols and the control frequency up to 500Hz (2ms).
