The battery voltage warning function never warn

For the last two weeks I have done several flights with Andropilot and many of the flights are longer then 10 min in the air and Andropilot never stops working, its very stable on my nexus 7.

I fly FPV most of the time so I rely pretty must on the integrated speech output function (I do not use OSD). All previous bogus warnings are now gone and the altitude reported back to me flawlessly, this is all excellent!

But, the battery voltage speech warning seems to never be triggered during flight or during my tests on the ground. Even if I have everything connected with a fully charged 3S battery (12.6V) on the ground, recieving telemetry and everything. I type in for example 13.0V (just for testing) as my voltage warn level, hit ok and return to the main screen, I never get a speech warning, am I missing something here... are there other conditions that also needs to be met for the function to trigger?

My expectations of this function is that Andropilot should warn me continuosly with a certain periodicity (what is the periodicity?) that my battery is low when my battery voltage is below my voltage warn level setting.

As anyone else seen this problem?

  • Okey, back to this again... I have just been outside flying and trying to get this function working, but with no luck! :-(

But now I have a theory why it doesn't work for me:

I think it has something to do with the absent use of a current sensor, I only use the internal voltage sensor that exist on my APM 1.4 board to read out the battery voltage. So on the Andropilot display, I see battery voltage ~12.4V something and the battery percentage is always -105%, I think this negative percentage number is part of the problem. If I do not have my minimum battery percentage set to for example -200 then I get warn battery speech warnings all the time. But when I use -200 as my minimum battery percentage setting I do not get any speech warnings at all, not any battery percentage warnings and not any battery voltage warnings... can this be the case? Kevin?

Yep - that should work fine.  The period for those warnings is 60 seconds.  Can someone else reproduce this problem and post in this thread?  I can then take a look...
