Hi,

Seeking some help here..my APM 2.5 flashed with ArduPlane 2.68 has this irritating issue of the compass being off everytime i start up the system . I will then enable it via the Mission Planner and all seems ok..then the next time i power on and connect to mission planner, the compass is disabled again!

I then opened up Terminal and notice that it says compass initialization failed! Try enabling it but it wont enable.

Is this a hardware problem ? I already  have an APM2.5 with the tech team and i have not got it back yet, if i have to send this one im out of APMs :-s

  • rusy, i faced the same problem of compass being shown as disabled everytime i run mission planner. the trick is after enabling compass, switch to a different tab and then come back to 'hardware' tab. this way it is saves the configuration to APM. The harware page of mission planner should have 'save' button. the mission planner seems to have a problem of not saving the configuration until you switch to a different tab.
