Hi all,

This is my first post in the forum. So please guide me a bit. I have pixhawk with arducopter for the IRIS+ drone. I want to make a autopilot boat using pixhawk. I ordered Ublox GPS, Pixhawk, and I will use the telemetry from the 3DR IRIS+. The boat have 2 12V DC motors, I have a DC motor driver which takes two inputs 1- Direction (clockwise or Anticlockwise) , 2- PWM (for speed) link. I was thinking to use two of this driver for each motor, and drive the boat without rudder. So two outputs for PWM and two direction of motors. As for hard left or right motor should run in opposite directions.

If anyone can help me on how to achieve this, I will be very grateful. I believe that skid steering is something I should study. I want the auto navigation to work properly.

Thanks in advance.

    Shahrukh,

Yes, I think it should be possible APMRover2 (aka ArduRover, aka Rover) can apparently be used for boats and the skid steering (used for rovers with two tracks like a tank) should work I would have thought.  Grant Morphett is our Rover maintainer so he might be a good one to talk to.  There are various other communication channels besides DIYD that can also be used to reach the developers although in the end we can't answer all requests 'cuz there are just too many.
