I find calibration with the apm2.6 and external compass easy. But i dont manage to calibrate my pixhawk external compass. I did the compass dance as described in the video but i do bot get enough data. It looks as if one area of thw rotating globe in live calibration doesnot get data. The accelometer is calibrated ok though. What could be the problem? Got updated firmwate as of 21 may 2014 on the pixhawk. Thanks in advance for helping.
I also found compass calibration a bit of a dark art. The way I got it to work was following the principle of the second video here where he actually points the quad to all compass points in all orientations. I didn't actually do the dance as mine was attached to my laptop via usb. I simply went outside and sat the Y6 on a table and moved it through all compass points then put it vertically and again rotated it through all compass points then put it side on to the table and went through all compass points etc etc finishing with doing it upside down.
