APM 2.5 Problem with motors.

Hi guys!

Well... I've tried almost everything and I can't figure out what's wrong, the problem is as follows:

When I arm the motors and test with a slow throttle, it seems that all is fine, but after few moments, some motors begin to spin faster and faster by themselves, and one or two motors just spin slower and then do not spin anymore.

-The ESCs are well calibrated

-The motors respond well in the "motors test" in mission planner

-The accel and compass are well calibrated.

Please, any comment or advice would be very helpful...

  • Careful,

Double check your ACHS orientation( I think that is the abreviation in Mission planner.

If you are on a slight hill, that will happen, and you just have to hop the craft up to 2ft altitude. I dont advise this with a new craft of course.

Definitely test this on grass as not to risk more serious damage. I've also had this happen with a bad ESC. Just be very careful and calculating when testing/trouble shooting this.

  • :) that is normal.

put the copter outside on a good place, start an lift up in stabilize. than, if you feel better with help, switch to alt hold and hoover.

  • Have you checked to see if all your ESCs are programmed to the same settings?

Also are those fixed endpoint ESCs? If they are you will have to set the endpoint in the Mission Planner manually.

Also try rewriting the parameter file again. It might help fix the problem.

Can't think of any other possible problems than can cause this.

  • Lol, that's how it is supposed to work. What is happening is that due to the vibrations from the motors AC thinks that it is tilting onto one side so it tries to compensate and so it slowly revs up some of the motors.
