I am using APM 2.6 on Quadrotor. I had couple of flights with 4 cell lipo batteries. Today when I connected 4 cell battery to battery monitor, it burned off with smoke. I removed battery monitor and tried to arm APM but it did not arm. Now I am trying to connect it to mission planner but APM is not showing up in device manager and not able to connect to mission planer.

Green, Red and Blue leds on board are working but orange leds are not working at all.

Any help in fixing APM issue and battery monitor will be appreciated.

    @Nikhil,

    When you said battery monitor, I thought that you were referring to a standard LiPo battery checker. The object in the picture is a Power Module (PM) that supplies power to the APM from the onboard LiPo battery and also monitors the battery's current consumption and voltage.

    Is the Power Module a genuine 3DR part or is it a clone? Recently there has been a number of posts describing the failure of clone PMs that also destroyed the APM that the PM was connected to.

  • New battery??

    Reverse polarity by accident??

    "Smoke" normally means a " User Interface Problem"

    Need some pictures, first post of this scenario in a while, I think......

    2.5, 2.6 almost exactly the same, other that on 2.6 the mag is not on the main board, but on the GPS board...

    @Nikhil,

    Are you using a USB connection or a telemetry connection to try and communicate with your APM from the MP?

    Was the APM hooked to the battery through a BEC or a Power Module (PM) at the time the battery monitor burned up?

    Do you know why the battery monitor burned up? Did you accidentally connect it to the balance connector incorrectly?
