[SOLVED] APM 2.6 Quadcopter won't lift

This video describes the quadcopter behavior when moving up the throttle:

Quadcopter specs:

  • APM 2.6 + Ublox GPS
  • Motors: NTM Prop Drive Series 28-26A 1200kv / 286w
  • ESCs: Hobby King 30A ESC 3A UBEC
  • Prop.: 8.0x4.5 inches
  • Batt.: Zippy 4S 4500mAh

I am not using Power Module, my APM is powered with 1 ESC's UBEC, i've disconnect the other 3 red cables from escs, just using the ground and signal cables.

I've checked props orientation, calibrated ESCS(all ESCs start spinning at same time), did accel calibration etc.

  • Thank you guys for supporting me. Special thanks to Jim Cioffi, the props and motors were spinning in right direction, but the props were upside down.

    Thank you again for supporting..

  • Seems to have enough speed.  So my guess is:

    - motors spinning the wrong way

    - wrong direction props (CW prop installed on CCW motor)

    - props installed upside down

  • hi there ... im no expert ... had similar obstacle before. seems like your rear left motor spinning the wrong way... forcing it down. I once like this only to find out later the motor spinning the wrong way... eventhough the prop is correctly installed.

hope by now you have solved it. all the best.

  • Have you checked your transmitter set-up. I had a similar problem with my hex and it was mainly due to some of the controls being reversed. Also, double check that all your signal cables are the right way around and go into the correct pins on the board.
