APM2.5 firmware version 3.0.1 Quadcopter

My APM 2.5 seems to drift and I can not get it to go into auto trim mode. How is this done. Also I have a issue with guided. I guessing guided is when u program flight planner to do a mission and then its meant to do that. Mine just goes mental and tries to crash. I would love to have someone help me set this up properly. Guided is more of a go 'here' now go 'here' mode using GCS.
Auto is for planned missions.
