Dear All Arducopter users / experts,

Due to I am a NEWBIE to Mission Planner Telemetry Log File & in order not to happen again to any of APM users,

I am posting this INCIDENT with .tlog & .rlog files for any of the experts here to look into the LOG FILE,

whether :

1) It is a PHYSICAL DISCONNECTED POWER SUPPLY , eg: Wiring or DEAN CONNECTOR ? or .......

2) SUDDEN LOST POWER by the APM Power Module or APM2.6 ?

Note: APM 2.6 remained with power after crashed.

  • Kenneth,

    I would do the following;

    1 Bring the foam legs in and more away from the props.

    2 Mount the batteries under the chassis, side-by-side, not stacked.

    3 Investigate the ESC's your using as it relates to your motors. Are they compatible?

    Once the above items are corrected / investigated, test, test, test at low level altitudes.

  • Kenneth,

    I cannot address the power loss issue. But I would never have my batteries that close to my APM. I had huge mag field issues doing that. Whats your compassmot in that setup?

    Also, I've seen others use small foam sections on their landing gear feet, however as a practical matter, your foam is on the booms and blocking your props lift which I believe will lead to inefficiency.

    I've had more than my share of crashes. I've learned even after a minor crash to check for any of the following;

    1 Hairline cracks in props, chassis or booms

    2 Smooth motor rotation consistant for all motors

    3 Nicks or completely severed wires as result of broken prop impact

    4 Loose components which could cause excessive vibration or wire disconnection.
