Hi.
Whilst in stabilise mode the X8 is super twitchy and with no input drifts forward and right.
I have tried the autotrim which fixes it for a while but on battery change it goes back to the same.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
Bryn

Quick update....
Having tried everything to calm it down I give up. I am going to swap the APM out in favour of a DJI Wookong M.
In fact I am contemplating cannabilising the X8 in favour of a better airframe.
3Drobotics have been no help.....their loss.
I have a similar issues with RTF X8 as well. I believe that we need to go through the full calibration routines for the gyro, GPS and compass, etc. The instructions for this are in the online documentation at http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/table-of-contents/. I have smoothed out some of my X8 drift and twitchiness by setting my magnetic declanation. It's a fifteen degree difference where I live. Instructions for that are also found in the APM Copter wiki. The website to visit is http://magnetic-declination.com to find the offset for your location.
While I still have issues with my X8, it gets better as I go through the calibration steps. I have also found that many of the screws were only finger tight, and some of my stability issues were the result of the arms moving a little and throwing off the airframe geometry. I went through all of the screws and nuts and applied a little non-hardening Loctite to prevent vibration loosening them again. I made sure that the arms were properly aligned by measuring from motor post to motor post in front to back and side to side dimensions. The X is not symmetrical. Front to back is 11in and side to side 19.25in.
It's generally not a good idea to use the trim adjustments, better to try to find a problem cause and take care of it.
I really like my X8. I expect that as I learn more about it and get it tuned up properly I'll like it even more.
