Barometer Vs Gps

hello everyone,

Does the apm use data from the barometer and gps for the altitude?

is there a way to disable the onboard barometer and use gps only for altitude?

    GPS altitude is very unreliable. Usually at least 10m off and sometimes 40m off. It depends hugely on how many sats your module is seeing and the signal quality. It might be barely okay to fly an aircraft one day and then put in the dirt the next. In short: not recommended.
