Camera triggering

Hello,

I am trying to trigger a canon camera using its usb.  I am planning on using a PicoSwitch connected to my RC, but am wondering whether I can safely use a 5v supply from the APM in order to power the usb trigger.  Is this a bad idea?  I've tried the servo hack method but without success.

    Hi Lee, check power consumption for your usb trigger. APM allows no more than 500mA total. It's not bad idea to power directly from APM if it takes no more than 50-100mA, otherwise it might be dangerous.

    Its always safer to use the onboard relay and an external supply when posible (e.g the balance plug)
