Just setting up my APM 2.6 with M8N external GPS/compass. All went well for the calibrate except that the compass seems to be out 180 degrees. Anyone have an idea on this issue?
Thanks

I was wondering if there was a parameter in Mission Planner to orientate the compass.. There is a small white arrow on the compass that needs to point the same direction as the APM control. I point this to N it actually tells me it's south on the Mission Planner screen.Do you know what parameter it is or is called?

Rotation Roll refers to the compass upside down - if the compass thinks its simply facing south then the COMPASS_YAW should be 180. There is a drop down menu item in config.
Just verify that the compass is not upside down.
Look up Compass Yaw in the Wiki in MP - Ill try and look it up. It would explain your issue tho'
I went through initial set up step by step. Firmware, magnetometers etc. Next came the compass and I clicked on live calibrate. Immediately it told me to start rotating the compass to fill in all the points which I did until about 4000 points were found then it said done and calibration saved. That's it.

Its on the Compass Setup screen.
Set the orientation to Rotation_Roll_180

Thanks for all your help. I'll poke around and come up with a solution.
I think you need to check the arrows on the top. If you cant turn it round you can set Compass YAW to 180 in Mission Planner. Good luck
What compass orientation did you use?
I did not select any orientation. I just followed the instructions in " initial set up"
rotated the compass all around till I got maybe 4,000 points then it stopped on it's own and said compass data saved
I was not aware of any selection. At least it said nothing.
I'm thinking there maybe a parameter to set this up?
This should have been done during initial configuration:

Thanks. I do not recall seeing this screen before. I went through the initial set up procedure and did the "live" compass calibration.
It finished and said good to go.
I will try to find this page.

I will go back through it again.
