HEX Issue this morning

I attached the telem log.. Was doing a gimbal test this morning and did my usual check list had 12 sats everything checked nominal. Launched the hex and went to apprx 20 feet hit the loiter switch.. instantly it went into it then in another 2 seconds it dropped to the ground.   I looked at my tlog quickly and see it was not a gps glich or sonar that I could see but It shows on the drop that the battery current goes to zero.  The voltage is still in the right area. Very odd. It landed fine in some deeper sand no problems no damage and I was so mad I took it off right there and landed it on my little launch pad i have here and it flew fine. Also moved it around pretty aggressively to see if there was a short or something like that.

I have the battery on my computer charger and there are no errors from that..  I will test it again this weekend first with a different battery and then with the battery in question but I think it was something else on board that I am not seeing. Rssi seems good also.

  • 3692840256?profile=originalThere's a plot of your RC input channels vs altitude.

Judging by this, the throttle (RC3) went down to 1100 (0 throttle) quite quickly. And the hex responded accordingly. The other channels look fine, which rules out loss of radio signal.

Could your RC controller be mis-configured? See if you can run some tests to isolate the issue of your controller, particularly if the throttle always goes to zero on loiter mode.

  • I was thinking about this situation over lunch.. And although I have not found the actual cause of this issue me thinking that I had a battery problem is not correct.  Showing zero current at the specific time it dropped out of loiter is pretty correct in that when the motors shut down it would not be drawing any current so I am going to see if I also have a imu log to put up here also.
