Dear all, I've built an hexacopter with APM1, during my first flight I've realized the hexa was going backward, even if there were no wind at all, what could be? (I've done the level procedure)

Second issue, I've uploaded the latest firmware and had some problems in setting up the parameters...really much different from the one I had saved before.

How can I find the recomended parameters list for hexa with firmware 2.6?

As last, when giving throttle (50%), I hear a strange noise coming from one propeller/Motor, looks to me as a kind of cavitation noise...I changed the propeller thinking it was damaged...but it is still the same.

Any idea?

Thanks

Marco

  • Hi all, you were right....the motor was spinning in the wrong direction...stupid me...I've tried to fix better the cables since they tend to unplug, expecially during hard landing...and connected back in wrong sequence....

I will have to fly in a windy environment (25-30 km/h) do you have any special suggestion?

Any PID regulation that could improve the hexa stability?

Here I am during maiden flight

    Tnx

  • Marco, go back and DOUBLE check that you dont have the incorrect rotation prop running backwards on the rear motor. better yet, Post a top down picture of your quad. It sounds like that prop is running with the trailing edge going forward.

    hope that is it...

  • some more informations:

using CLI i've tried radio and motors test, they ran fine.

    Set the level several time.

    Re-done ESC calibration process.

Re-calibrated the radio channels (only channel 2 is reversed, and I've done at the radio not in AP)

Could it be a soldering problem between esc and motor?

    Thanks!
