Propeller diameter with stacked motors

I'm wondering whether it's worth trying a larger diameter propeller on the bottom motors of my X8. With stacked motors I assume the lower prop is going to operate in the air disturbed by the top motor. Would I get better efficiency from a larger bottom prop?

  • I think that is a good question. I would be interested in its answer. Logically to me, it does look like the bottom prop would be effected by the wind turbulence from the top, but note that in practice in can be just the opposite (i.e. helping the bottom prop to move due to free air flow from the top).

Have you looked at this post: This guy uses bigger bottom props for x8.
