Receiver Position to Hexacopter

This may be a dumb question, but I moved my APM above my PDB and my flight tests went well.  I purchased an acrylic dome to protect the APM, satellite, receiver and etc.  My question is, can I mount my Spektrum AR8000 on its side?  This will allow additional space within the dome.  I am using the Spektrum AR8000 with the satellite.  The antennas are 90 degrees from one another and over 3 inches apart.

    You can orient the receiver anyway you want as long as the antennas are positioned appropriately.
