Replacing 1280 Board with 2560 Board help?

I just recently found out that I need to upgrade my 1280 board to the newer 2560 board on my JDrones quadcopter to fit the new version of the software. I haven't been fooling with it for a while it seems and I fell behind in the updating. I looked for the 2560 board and it is carried by JDrones Asia. Is there a place in the US that sells the board?

Also, is there anything else I will need to get up to date as far as hardware goes? Just the board and the connectors is all I can see that I will need.

  • This board? I already have a GPS board. Any sense in upgrading that?

  • Guys, Should he not be looking at the APM 2.5 board instead???

surely that will have a better life-cycle than the ageing APM1 boards?

Michael, 1280 and 2560 boards are identical except it has 2560 CPU. So you only need new board and pins for it. We have new improved boards available that will also powerup receiver from USB. Please contact our sales and we can look more.

Yes, it's made and carried by 3D Robotics in the main DIY Drones store. That's all you need to upgrade to be compatible with the current code.
