Hey guys,

Just wondering will 2.9 have a mode that lets you "fly by gps" like the N...?

They call it "GPS Atti. Mode"

  • Arm, disarm, land, fly, take off
  • Lock position if GPS signal is adequate.
  • Maintain the altitude best above 1 meter from ground.
  • After 10s when GPS signal lost, system enters Atti. Mode automatically
  • Attitude & speed mixture control ensures stability

Basically a mode that lets you arm, take off, fly, land and disarm all using the GPS that will hold altitude and position when all sticks are centered without having to change to stabilized mode?  One where I wont have to switch to stabilized to arm?  One that if GPS is lost mid flight it will still fly well and hold altitude based on the barometer and if GPS comes in it will grab ahold again?

I am asking this because that is the only thing I see that my N does so well that the APM 2.5 does not seem to have an option for at this time.    When it comes to waypoints you guys have it in the bag way over the NAZA that only flies to waypoint home.  But its the GPS fly mode that I think is lacking, and really most of the time thats what I like to do.

Then I can replace my NAZA with the APM :)

Once again, except this im ready to change over my f550 if I could get this in my quad :-)

  • Without touching on the other items, I would think automatic arming when the unit gets a GPS lock would be dangerous to say the least.. It's a safety feature in that you have to be in one specific mode (so you don't forget what one you're in when arming) then having to arm with physical actions (throwing and keeping the stick to the side)

Of course I could be misreading or interpreting something.. YMMV..
