Will Autotune help Toilet Bowl

I am using my APM 2.6 wGPS from an old build

I did a reset and upgraded to 3.1

But now it hovers okay in stabilize, not perfect but worse is that if I go to loiter it wants to drift off and toilet bowl really bad, wide circles.

This is a proven GPS and APM 2.6 so I'm not sure why this is happening with the new build.

I calibrated GPS and got -44 -43 -38

I think thats okay results, but really not 100% sure.

Im not sure what to do at this point, should I even try to auto tune right now?  It flies okay in Stabilize mode so I don't think I need to bother with that at this time?

I did notice in stabilize mode the TBS will turn to the left or right but thats somewhat normal.

Thanks, Ed,

  • Hi Edgar, I see you live just down the road from us. We'd be happy to send you a GPS/Magnetometer stand free of charge. We had the same problem and designed a stand which we can 3D-print anytime. All you'd have to pay for would be the shipping. We are based in Gainesville, Fl.

    Ed,

the autotune won't help with the toiletbowling.  You can run the autotune though and it should work fine..the autotune procedure may come up with better rate PIDs than you can determine by yourself but it won't tackle the cause of the toiletbowling which is the compass.

I guess you calibrated the compass on the GPS and got the 3 offsets written above...those numbers look good so it probably means the problem is interference from the motors or the compass orientation is set incorrectly.
